Magnification makes the screen bigger
Screen magnification enlarges what is already on your display. It is different from a camera magnifier that helps you look at a nearby object.
- iPhone: look in Settings → Accessibility → Zoom. Read the gestures and exit instructions first. Apple says a three-finger double-tap turns Zoom off.
- Android: look in Settings → Accessibility → Magnification. Set up the shortcut using your manufacturer’s instructions.
- Windows: use the official Magnifier guide to learn how to start and stop magnification.
A screen reader changes interaction
VoiceOver on iPhone, TalkBack on Android and Narrator on Windows can announce screen content. A screen reader is more than “read this paragraph”: it may change the gestures used to select and activate controls.
- Read how to turn the feature off before enabling it.
- Use the built-in tutorial or practice mode. Try it with a trusted helper if you want support.
- Be aware of who can hear spoken content, especially passwords or private messages.
Choose the support that fits the task
You might prefer larger text for one task and spoken content for another. Start with the tool already included on a compatible device. Use the resource directory if you want training or more tailored support.
Try one small step
A little practice, no pressure.
Without changing your settings, open the official tutorial for your device. Find its start, practice and stop instructions. Then decide whether you want to try it.
